UnionActive Online Voting
Give members a voice
Bring member participation directly to your union website with online voting, flexible eligibility settings, and voting choices recorded separately from member identities.
A familiar place to participate
UnionActive connects voting with the member accounts your union already manages. Members can sign in, review an available initiative, and submit their selections online. Union leaders have a central place to prepare each vote and review its results.
Member access
Make voting available to members in good standing, with additional eligibility settings for a specific local or resource group.
Flexible choices
Allow one selection, several selections up to a defined limit, or an optional write-in response.
Clear confirmation
Members see a completion message after submitting a vote, and the system sends an acceptance email to the address on their account.
How members vote
Each initiative has a scheduled opening and closing time, with the information members need presented alongside their choices.
Sign in and open Online Voting
Members use the Online Voting link in Member Resources to access the initiatives available to them once voting begins.
Review and select
Read the subject and supporting information, then choose from the available options within the initiative's selection limit.
Submit and receive confirmation
Select "Enter Vote" to submit. The subject is then marked completed for that member, preventing another vote through the form.
Review before submitting: Each member can submit one vote per subject, including the permitted number of selections. The voting form does not offer changes after submission.
Member privacy built into the process
UnionActive records participation separately from voting choices. The participation record identifies which members voted, while the vote tally records selections without attaching the member's identity.
This lets administrators review participation and count results without a report showing how each person voted. The confirmation email acknowledges that a vote was accepted without listing the member's selections.
Set up the vote your union needs
Organize a membership-wide initiative or limit participation to a particular local, department, or shift using your site's local and resource-group settings.
- Scheduled voting: Set the opening and closing dates and times for each initiative.
- Eligibility settings: Define the local or resource groups that can participate.
- Single or multiple selections: Allow one choice or set a maximum number of selections.
- Optional write-ins: Give members the opportunity to enter an alternative response.
- Supporting information: Add descriptions for the initiative and individual choices to help members make an informed decision.
- Email reminders: Schedule an opening-day reminder for eligible members.
When using the scheduled email reminder, create the initiative at least 24 hours before its start date and time.
Manage the process from setup to results
Prepare and preview
Create the subject, schedule, eligibility settings, and choices, then preview the voting form. Standard editing tools lock the wording and selections once voting begins.
Share results with members
When member results are enabled, eligible members can view totals after voting closes. Local and resource-group restrictions apply whether or not the member cast a vote.
Keep useful records
Administration tools support reviewing results, downloading reports and participation records, and archiving completed initiatives.
